NYU ORCHESTRAS PERFORMS WOLFE, DORMAN, AND FILMS
The NYU Orchestra Program returns to Symphony Space for its annual collaboration with the NYU Steinhardt Program in Scoring for Film and Multimedia and the NYU Tisch Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, featuring music by the winners of the 2019 NYU Steinhardt Film Scoring Composition Competition performed by live orchestra to award-winning animations. The concert also includes contemporary works by Avner Dorman, featuring winners of the 2019 NYU Steinhardt Percussion Concerto Competition, and Pulitzer Prize and MacArthur Grant-winning composer Julia Wolfe, who is also a professor of Music Composition at NYU Steinhardt.
Bo-Xun’s film score written for Tisch animation Happy Little Fly will be presented by NYU O1 Orchestra.
